National Geographic Set To Premiere Gripping Documentary, LA 92

This Sunday, National Geographic Documentary Films will premiere a must watch documentary from Oscar award winning directors, Dan Lindsay and TJ Martin. The film, LA 92 puts the viewer front and center in city of Los Angeles in the days following the Rodney King verdict and into the heart of what would come to be known as the Los Angeles Riots.

The L.A. riots would be the the most deadly and costly period of civil unrest in American history.

LA 92

is both timely and relevant as ever. Sunday is one day ahead of the 25th anniversary of the initial verdict of the Rodney King officers. Also examined in the film and sometimes lost in all that was those riots is the fatal shooting of Latasha Harlins, which also played a major part in the community feeling like they had no choice but to fight back.

LA 92 is a stunning visual, with a compelling soundtrack. Not only is it educational, but it also offers an opportunity for individuals and families to reflect on the poignant reality that times truly haven’t changed that much. The question hangs in the balance throughout the documentary, how far have we really come?
