August Alsina Opens Up To His Fans About His Liver Disease
Only a couple of weeks after announcing his forthcoming tour, singer, August Alsina has revealed that he’s been battling a liver disease. The 24-year-old recently sat down in a one-on-one interview with his close friend, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and opened up about the personal struggles of his past and current health complications. Alsina took to his Instagram to share the news with his fans, posting a video clip from the sit-down. In the caption, he stated that ‘he’s sicker than ever and having a hard time accepting his illness’. The news comes shortly after the controversial post he made almost a week ago on the social site, leaving fans to speculate and question.
Now, Alsina has decided to set the record straight, once and for all.
“I have a liver disease, where my autoimmune system is fighting against itself. The reality is that I’m sick all the time. I don’t really like to talk about it because I’m not looking for anybody’s sympathy.” Alsina says in the clip.
The New Orleans native experienced a health scare back in 2014 when he collapsed on stage at one of his concerts in New York. In result, Alsina stayed in a coma for three days. A year after recovering from that, he then discovered that his eyesight was deteriorating and had to undergo surgery.
Though Alsina seems to be having a tough time right now, he asks to be continuously lifted in prayer. He is currently prepping for tour and says that he’s spending time building his health.
“I am ALL things thru GOD who strengthens me. I only want to be more love & I want the vibration of my music to represent the same thing thru all the loving experiences I am having.” The singer expresses.
God only gives the toughest battles to the strongest soldiers. We send many get well soon wishes to Mr. August Alsina.
