Erica & Tina Campbell Are Back For Mary Mary Final Season

Mary Mary final season of the reality series comes to WE tv this September.

Mary Mary is a multi-Grammy award-winning Gospel singing duo–which consists of two talented sisters, Erica Atkins-Campbell and Trecina ‘Tina’ Atkins-Campbell. The pair started their musical journey singing in church, but, in 1995, they appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel show on BET and continued on to write “Dance” for the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack in 1998.

The sister duo is widely known for their debut album, Thankful, which was released in 2000 and became certified platinum. They have released a total of seven albums, to date, with two of them being gold and reaching number one on the Billboard Top Gospel Album chart.

With their continuous success, a new opportunity presented itself to the Atkins-Campbell sisters, back in 2012, when they were offered their own reality TV show, self-titled Mary Mary, on WE tv. The show has aired for five seasons and received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Program/Reality Competition Series. Now, it is finally returning for season six, which will also be their final season.

Season six of Mary Mary will air on September 28th, 2017, at 9/8c and offer six hour-long episodes. As season five ended, it left fans wondering if the ladies would remain together throughout the tension. Although they will face competition between one another, in season six, you will also see the sisters support one another as they progress in their solo careers. You will, too, get to see scenes of creation and recording of their latest albums.

Tina Atkins-Campbell has a single out, with a video, titled “Too Hard Not To”. The single is currently available for preorder, but will officially be released, along with Tina’s album, It’s Still Personal, on September 29th. The song will also be featured in the coming episodes of Mary Mary.

“It’s been a privilege to chronicle the lives of gospel superstars Erica and Tina Campbell, better known as Mary Mary–who are truly rocks stars who rock everything they do, from family life to their wildly successful music careers,” said Lauren Gellert, executive vice president, development & programming for WE tv. “Mary Mary is a big part of why WE tv is a number one cable network for African-American adults and women on Thursday nights, and we are proud to have been the television home to these inspirational women for six amazing seasons.”

We must admit, it will be truly heartbreaking to see the Campbells depart from reality TV, but we are grateful to have had a glimpse into their lives over the past few years. Sending much love and well wishes to Mary Mary on their future endeavors!
