If you’ve ever taken a look at the Instagram page of Tracee Ellis Ross, you have been in awe of the glamorous clothing combinations she has at her disposal. Although the Tracee Ellis Ross JC Penney clothing line is not clothing directly from Ms. Tracee’s closet (and yes I am devastated about that), they are definitely looks inspired by her. More importantly, they are looks with price tags that the ‘million dollar challenged’ population can stomach. Since the news broke of the launch, some of Ms. Ross’s famous friends have been seen in a few looks: Black-ish co-star Yara Shahidi, Comedian Ilana glazer, Chewing Gum actress Michaela Coel, and actress Michelle Monaghan have all been seen in various pieces from the line.

So, let’s dive into the threads of this line! At this time there are more than 40 glorious pieces to start this line off right. There are also some housewear items in the mix so your whole home can catch some style ‘fly’ too. Miss Tracee made sure to celebrate women of all shapes, heights and sizes; all of the items in the standard sizes have plus-sized doubles up to 3X.
Every single piece has some of Tracee’s eclectic essence in the pattern or the fit of the item. Additionally many of the outerwear items can be combined or worn separately. And all of the pieces are convertible from professional day attire, to glitzy night pieces. There are patterned pajamas, sequined stripped shirts, form fitting velvety midi-dresses, and a variety of other dresses that any glitter girl would die for.
On the JCP website, you can find the ratings and the product specifications for the Tracee Ellis Ross JC Penney clothing line, which is vital in online shopping. (Especially for those that don’t live near a physical location) The fit for most items is rated at average, or true to size, with a little added stretch from our dear friend spandex. The other major fabric blends that create the sexy, affordable chic looks are cotton, nylon, and polyester.
Overall, I would say Miss Ross has produced a wonderful line. Even though the product set is still very new, there is much room for expansion and growth. And I’m here for all of it!
