Xscape Release A Brand New Project, Without Kandi…

It’s been an exciting time for all of the die hard Xscape fans out there. Nearly twenty years later, the group came back together for a long-awaited reunion, making their grand entrance back onto the music scene with BET and Essence performances that we’ll never forget.

The ladies even gave us a behind-the-scenes look at how their sisterhood still remains unbreakable—even after decades of being apart and messy drama in between, with their hit reality series, Still Kickin’ It, which premiered on Bravo.

But, most of all, we had the opportunity to see all four of the singing sisters on one stage, doing what they do best while traveling the world together… again. Xscape embarked on their 22-city ‘The Great Xscape Tour’, selling out arenas like they’d never left.

And, now, fresh off of the road, the ladies are gearing up for their EP, Here for It. However, this time, without Kandi.

Last year, in an awkward interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens: Live, Kandi made the unfortunate announcement that she would not be moving forth with any Xscape music projects, as she was then prepping to hit Broadway for their Chicago The Musical production.

Back when we caught up with Xscape at Essence Fest, Kandi also mentioned that she had no interest in releasing no new music with the group.  Watch her talk about it below:

Although it was a huge bummer for the fans, this didn’t stop LaTocha, Tiny, and Tamika from hopping into the booth and cooking up some new music.

Coming off of the release of their well-received two singles “Dream Killa” and “Wifed Up”, the three are now getting ready to debut an EP, titled, Here for It.

The project holds six tracks, including both “Dream Killa” and “Wifed Up”, and is set to be unveiled on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

The album was technically released as Xscap3, but that only matters if you are looking for the project on streaming services.

This is the moment that we’ve all been waiting for, and it’s finally happening.

Hopefully, we can get Kandi back on board when and if the full-length album happens.
