BET Announces Jamie Foxx as the Host of This Year’s BET Awards
Jamie Foxx Will Be Hosting the 2018 BET Awards
Academy Award-winning actor, comedian, and musician Jamie Foxx will be hosting this year’s BET Awards, Billboard reports.
The 50-year-old first helmed the awards celebration in 2009, when the ceremony paid an all-star tribute to pop legend Michael Jackson, who unexpectedly passed away a few days earlier. Now, he’s back at it again… with more jokes to tell and even bigger laughs to give.
Last year, Saturday Night Live‘s Leslie Jones led the show, which featured a grand opening performance from Bruno Mars and full-blown reunion concerts from Xscape and lifetime achievement honorees New Edition.
This year, DJ Khaled heads the 2018 nominees slate with six nominations, including ‘Album of the Year’, two for ‘Best Collaboration’ (“Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller and “Top Off” with Jay-Z, Future, and Beyoncé), and ‘Video of the Year’. Kendrick Lamar sits at five nominations, while SZA and Migos each follow up with four.
The 2018 BET Awards, hosted by Jamie Foxx, will be held on June 24th, at 8:00 p.m. EST, LIVE from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
