Gabrielle Union’s Bad Boys series will need to find a new home if its still going to be happening.  Back in November of 2017 we announced that Bad Boys series was in the works and coming to NBC.  The network specifically ordered the pilot episode and the goal was for the show to premiere this Summer, or in the Fall, but today it was announced that NBC has decided not to air the series.

The Bad Boys series was officially titled, LA’s Finest, and was set to star Gabrielle Union alongside her partner Jessica Alba (Nancy McKenna).  The series is set to follow Special Agent Syd Burnett, who if you recall was Martin Lawrence’s sister in the movie Bad Boy II. Syd moves to Los Angeles and joins the LAPD.

NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt explained the decision for NBC to pass on the pilot by stating:

These are all tough calls. We did have an embarrassment of riches. And when we laid out the schedule and the calendar all season… it was a show that didn’t fit in the grand scheme of it.

The pilot was written by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier and directed by Anton Cropper. The pilot had a budget of $12 million dollars, which is a lot for a television series right now, but with the big names tied to the project, the expectation is that another network will pick up the series.

In the mean time Gabrielle Union still has her clothing line to work on.
