As an individual contributing to society, you may find that your happiness gets lost in the chaos of daily life. And while happiness is closely linked to your quality of life, you can have the latter without constantly experiencing the former. The key lies in the meaningfulness of your life, not just the happiness in it, according to Daniel Kahneman, author of “Thinking, Fast and Slow”. Taking back the control of the quality of your life depends largely on the mindset of making necessary habit changes to not only be happy, but also satisfied with life.

Center Your Mind

Your mind is where it’s essentially all happening. When you’re in a good head space, days usually go better than when you’re in a negative state of mind. Although external circumstances play a sizeable role in how we’re feeling, there are methods you can use to collect what is happening around you and channel it into a productive and collected state of being. Activities like yoga and meditation tend to the mind and provide additional benefits other than just the physical. These include relieving stress and anxiety through the focused breathing and concentration, and the overall effect allows you to improve your quality of life.

Care For Your Body

While tending to your mental wellbeing, you should also nourish your body. Healthy food, sufficient water and the necessary vitamins (which will be different for each individual) provide your body with what it needs to maintain a healthy balance between the body and the mind. When both your mental and physical health are balanced, your overall well being and satisfaction in life is enhanced.

Open Your Mind To Your Future

Even if your mind and body are in the right place, you still need to consciously be open to the possibilities of the future. Unbiased influences like psychic readings can prepare you mentally for the things to come in your life, also reflecting upon your present and past choices. By allowing yourself to glance at your potential future, you are given the advantage of planning for events and phases to come. This improves your quality of life because open-mindedness reduces the chance of being ill-prepared and thrown off when unexpected situations occur.

Lifelong Learning

Education in every form is the greatest tool to use in creating a high-quality life for yourself. Learning something new each day, albeit something small, offers a new insight into your otherwise comfortable existence. Lifelong learning provides the opportunity to work on yourself, grow as a person and develop a sense of intellectual accomplishment. Through this, you will find that your quality of living improves accordingly.

Look Beyond Yourself

Anyone who has been involved in various types of charity work will be able to vouch for the positive influence it can have on your life. When you focus on others, rather than our own turmoil, you reduce the destructive nature of your personal problems and the effect they have on you. Helping others not only gives you a sense of fulfillment, but also improves the value of your existence.

Habits are easily formed but often hard to change and it is this challenge that defines the human spirit.
