Maxwell Celebrates 20th Anniversary For Embrya Album With Re-released Album & Tour
R&B singer Maxwell, who was born Gerald Maxwell Rivera, came into the music industry during the early 1990’s unaware of where the journey would take him. His last album blackSUMMERS’night was released in 2016 and although he’s continued working on music, he hasn’t decided to officially release the final album in the trilogy or give a potential release date. For people wondering what the neo-soul singer and songwriter Maxwell has been up to besides working on music, Maxwell recently announced a tour called “50 Intimate Nights Live” in celebration of the 20th anniversary for his album Embrya.
There has also been an announcement from Maxwell regarding the album Embrya, which he announces will be re-released on September 28th as a 2xLP white vinyl including a 12-page booklet containing unreleased photos from his Embrya photoshoot. The album has been remastered by Maxwell and Sade’s Stuart Matthewman and has been resequenced with the original opening track “Gestation: Mythos” moved to the end.
The singles from the Embrya album were “Luxury: Cococure” and “Matrimony: Maybe You”. The 1998 has been certified platinum.
In regards to his upcoming fall tour, Maxwell happily announced it will take place in North America, Atlanta, Memphis, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago and more.
