New Music from August Alsina Is Finally Here, Take a Listen…
August Alsina may have been gone from the limelight for a minute, but the 26-year-old is back like he never left.
Contrary to his social media, hanging with the Smiths isn’t the only thing Alsina has been up to lately; apparently, he’s also been in the studio cooking up some heat.
Earlier this morning, the “This Thing Called Life” singer unleashed the official video to his latest track, “Wouldn’t Leave,” and it’s safe to say, we already can’t get enough of it.
Directed by August Alsina himself, along with Christopher Scholar, the soulful, three-minute ballad showcases a more emotional side of the New Orleans cantor, as the visual captures him standing in front of an abandoned apartment building, pouring tears of sadness over the smooth-sailing melody.
“Trace of your fragrance all over my skin. Try to escape, but you pull me right back in,” he sings to the special lady who’s dominated his heart and mind. “I know you wouldn’t leave.”
The scenes later alternate from Alsina resting on a bench outside to walking inside of the deserted complex, ending beautifully under the sunset.

Musically, this year has been a quiet one for Alsina. A few months back, an unexpected remix to his 2017 hit, “Don’t Matter,” leaked, which featured former One Direction member Zayn Malik.
However, Alsina did kick off the Australian leg of his ‘Don’t Matter Tour’ in April, but since then, the crooner has been laying low, so it’s good to finally hear something new!
We’re hoping that a third album is on the radar in the near future.
What are your thoughts on “Wouldn’t Leave?” We would love to know your thoughts in the comments!
