America isn’t so great, and with the person in office and the people supporting him, it doesn’t seem to be getting there any time soon. Empire star Jussie Smollett was recently assaulted during what was described to be a “homophobic attack.”

According to TMZ‘s reports, the incident took place in Chicago… a little after midnight. The 35-year-old decided to grab a bite to eat at a nearby Subway, and following his departure from the restaurant, he was approached by two Caucasian men in ski masks. The strikers proceeded to yell gay-shaming slurs and immediately began to brutally beat Smollett to the point of fracturing a rib.

Sources connected to the actor told that they then shoved his head into a noose and poured on him before citing, “This is MAGA country,” as they walked away.

Smollett was treated at a local hospital and discharged earlier this morning. Chicago officials are investigating and is said to be labeling it as a hate crime.

Prior to the discriminative ambush, Fox Studios had been receiving racially-disturbing letters that were addressed to Mr. Smollett. See proof below.

We will continue to keep Jussie Smollett in our thoughts and prayers, and we can only hope that others will do the same.

Get well soon, JS.
