The soul of a woman has been taken for granted. That is clear when you see the pure disrespect women face every day, especially women of color. Johnny Gill sings to that on his new single “Soul of a Woman”.  The song gives you a new edition to love music. “Soul of a Woman” was written out of love. You can definitely feel it.

The lyrics are simple and powerful. Speaks of that deep down, pick you up no matter what love. The love we really yearn for.  The song makes you tap your feet and bop that head. It hits right to the chest to make you step back; and see the soul of a woman. It’s such a beautiful message.

When there is nonsense in the air about who the “King of R&B” is, there is no debating that Johnny Gill is a king in R&B. Johnny Gill, brought a different addition to New Edition. Now he’s coming to give the music world a new edition. The soulful voice of Johnny Gill and the musical instruments hit heavy. The heavy drops and taps off the instruments, it pounds like soul food. The strings, the thumps, and that voice of soul. It’s just soul food for your soul. Not just the “My, My, My” corner.  “Soul of a Woman” is a hard hitter. It’s hits right where it should: your soul.

“Soul of a Woman” has secured Johnny Gill the number one slot on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart.

“Soul of a Woman,” is the spearheaded single off Johnny Gill’s forthcoming eighth solo album, Game Changer II, the follow-up to 2014’s Game Changer.

The visual for “Soul of a Woman” co-stars Emmy-Award winning actress and game changer in her own right Tiffany Haddish. If you respect, love, and admire the woman in your life then listen to “Soul of Woman”.
