Birdman And Benny Boom Team Up To Produce New Indie Movie, Tazmanian Devil

Bryan Christopher Williams, better known as Birdman is most known as co-founder of Cash Money Records and mentor to rapper Lil Wayne. While he’s greatly known for teaming up with amazing artists to create music, Birdman is now teaming up with the magnificent visual director Benny Boom (Next Day Air). Birdman and Benny Boom will serve as executive producers for Solomon Onita Jr.’s Nigerian Immigrant drama Tazmanian Devil.  The film will be available for rent or purchase on February 9, 2021.

Since the early 2000s, the duo has worked together on music videos for Hot Boyz, Juvenile. Big Tymers, Lil Wayne. Jacquees, Nicki Minaj, and Drake among others. Boom says, “I have been creating visuals for Cash Money artists for decades and I am excited about this next phase of our collaboration. Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams has supported me since my first years Directing and this joint venture is a natural business and creative transition–the first of many.”  Boom’s Groundwurk Studios and Williams’ Cash Money Films are providing the necessary financing to market and distribute the indie.

The Tazmanian Devil movie focuses on 19-year old Dayo (Abraham Attah) who struggles to bond with his father (Guma Mbaho Mwine) and mother (Adepero Oduye) after moving to the US. Dayo is focused on self-discovery while on a mission to become a missionary. When he begins finding acceptance in a fraternity, he is soon challenged by his father. Dayo must decide the man he will become in the midst of his fathers strict and religious ways.

The film is written and directed by Onita, Jr., the film stars Abraham Attah, best known to audiences from his soul-stirring role in the award-winning film Beasts Of No Nation, Adepero Oduye (When They See Us), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (The Chi) and Kwesi Boakye (Claws).
