Iggy Azalea is in the news again but not for all of the right reasons. The rapper recently went after the King of the South, T.I. If you are paying attention at home, it was T.I. that gave Iggy Azalea her big break back in March of 2012 under his label, Grand Hustle Records. Fast forward to present day 2019, and all of the love that once was thought to have existed between Iggy Azalea and T.I., is no more. To Azalea’s defense, it was T.I. that fired the first shots which of course didn’t sit well with her.

T.I. severed ties with the Australian born rapper in 2015 after an incident she had with rapper, Q-Tip. T.I. took it upon himself to further distance himself from the decision he made once upon a time when he first signed Iggy Azalea. During a recent press stop to promote his new Netflix show Rhythm&Flow, T.I. spoke on how signing Azalea badly impacted his legacy.

“I’m still actively looking for another female rapper who can undo the blunder of Iggy Azalea,” T.I. said via The Root. “That is the tarnish of my legacy as far as [being] a [music] executive is concerned. To me, this is like when Michael Jordan went to play baseball.”

Azalea, born Amethyst Amelia Kelly who was recently in the news after a spat with popular singer, songwriter and rapper, Lizzo did not take to kindly to her former label boss T.I.’s comments saying in since deleted tweets; “Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder (expletive). Sweetie. We have a whole list for you,” said the 29-year-old.

She would later go on to throw even more shade towards the 39-year old rapper and executive.”He’s a huge misogynist and has never been able to have a conversation with any woman in which he doesn’t speak like a fortune cookie.”

We all know the expression, never bite the hand that feeds you. At the same time, if somebody talks about you in the manner in which T.I. did about Iggy Azalea, you are well within your right to respond. After all, that is what makes hip hop what it is.

Who do you think won this one between Iggy Azalea and T.I.? Leave your comments below.
