In 2019, the Queen of Chicago, Syleena Johnson signed a recording contract with Entertainment One Nashville.  The deal confirmed the label as her new home for music and set the groundwork for what would be her 10th studio album.  Now, after many months, the Syleena Johnson Woman album has arrived, released on January 31st.

Syleena Johnson has found her voice as a media personality in the last year or two, as one of the stars of the TV One daytime show, Sister Circle. Last year Syleena Johnson ventured into a new career as an author as well, releasing her long anticipated self-help book, The Weight Is Over. The book follows Johnson’s compelling and triumphant journey toward self-love and discovery, while chronicling her battle with body image birthed in adolescence and carried throughout her music career.

The Syleena Johnson Woman album is led by the title track, “Woman”.  The music video for the title track was released back in April 2019, shortly after the label deal was announced.

The latest single single is titled, “Freelance Lover”.

In December, the 41-year-old singer and TV personality lost 50 pounds in preparation for the Texas National Physique Committee (NPC Texas Cup) in Waco, Texas. At the competition on December 7th, she won three awards. Johnson took home 3rd place for Open, 5th place for True Novice, and 6th place for Novice. After sticking to a strict diet and exercising with her personal trainer, she competed in her first fitness competition, The NPC Texas Cup. She competed in the Women’s Figure Category.  Below is a shot of Syleeena at the competition, shared via her own Instagram.
