Vedo emerged on the national scene as a contestant on NBC’s talent competition, The Voice in season four in 2013.  Coached by Usher, he made quite the name for himself, despite not winning it all. He made it to the top 12, before being sent home, but he gained a fan base and showed off his talent on a huge platform in the process.

It would be a few years before I discovered the talented singer myself, finding him after the release of his second album, From Now On. Perfect timing for me because by then he had a large body of music to peruse through and he had even perfected his sound, songwriting skills and swag.

Singer Vedo
Born in Benton Harbor, MI, Vedo, born Wilbart McCoy III got his stage name from his father.  He shared that his father didn’t want him to have the name because the name was associated with what his father was doing in the streets of Benton Harbor, which got him locked up and serving time behind bars. Vedo’s mother gave him the name anyway and by the time the younger Vedo moved to Atlanta and began taking music seriously, the name Vedo became his stage name.  A previous name, Playboy V, did not stick.

In 2015 Vedo released his debut album, 93.  The project included his first viral hit, “4 Walls”, which turned out to be a slow burner.  The song was the first song many fans of Vedo would hear, some not until two years later.  The song was also featured on his sophomore album, From Now On, which was released in December 2017.

His song covers, which he titled, V-Mix, helped him create a following while the on the independent music grind.  His videos were getting hundreds of thousands of views and the original music was coming across the feeds of hundreds of new fans a day.

His second project was his State of Mind EP in 2016. Just six songs, it kept fans invested until the previously mentioned sophomore album, From Now On.

stand out tracks include:  “Reminiscing”, “Slow”, “Add To You” & “On My Way”

stand out tracks include:  “Hennessy & U”, “Do It Nasty”, “Truth Is” & “Talk Yo Shit” feauring Ar’mon & Trey

Vedo’s most recent project, his 4th album, is titled For You.  It was released on Friday March 27, 2020.  The project was led by the singles “Yvette” featuring Inayah Lamis, “Computer Luv” and “You Got It”.

In addition to his many hits, Vedo is also making a name for himself as a songwriter with credits to his name already for Chris Brown, Ar’mon & Trey and more.
