A few weeks ago, Brooklyn bred emcee Skyzoo announced that he was doing an EP as a collaborative effort with Dumbo Station titled The Bluest Note.  The project was released on April 24th.  The first time collaboration between Skyzoo and Dumbo Station combines the unique lyrical ability with Italy’s renowned jazz band. The EP features all live instrumentation from the band.

The joint EP is the follow-up to Skyzoo’s Retropolitan album, released last year, which was a collaboration with Pete Rock.

Skyzoo and Dumbo Station have already released a couple warm-up records to the EP.  The first single is titled “Good Enough Reasons,” which you could listen to below as you wait on the EP. Skyzoo has always been a rapper that likes to mix his sound with Jazzy types of records and it’s been a way to show his versatility.

The follow-up single from The Bluest Note EP is “We (Used) To Live In Brooklyn, Baby,” which finds him reminiscing on old Brooklyn and reflecting on the new Brooklyn.

The day the album was released, a third single was released along with a visual.  Check out “There It Goes” below…

Skyzoo has released a tracklist for the project as well, and it fits today’s era of being extremely short.

Skyzoo and Dumbo Station The Bluest Note EP tracklist:

  1. The Caveat
  2. Good Enough Reasons
  3. There It Goes
