Bounce recently premiered a brand new series, a dramedy called ‘Johnson‘. The new series made its debut on August 1st with two back to back episodes. The Johnson series stars Deji LaRay and Thomas Q. Jones, Philip Smithey and Derrex Brady.
JOHNSON Series Synopsis
Four Black men, Omar, Greg, Keith and Jarvis met in grade school and have been best friends ever since, and they all just so happened to have the same last name, Johnson…no relation. After 25 years of friendship, they are finding themselves in vastly different places in their lives, threatening the unity that has always been so strong. They confront and find humor in the most current controversial social issues from the Black Man’s perspective, ranging from love, marriage, business, politics and religion.

The former NFL athlete of 12 years has previously starred in several shows, including ‘Being Mary Jane‘, and ‘P-Valley‘ among others. The Big Stone Gap, VA is the son of coal miners and one of 7 children. His parents published a family memoir titled, “Blessings From The Dust,” that tells the story of raising their children.

A child actor, Deji went from performing on Broadway to studying Film and Television at Cal State Los Angeles. He went on to appear in the series ‘Bosch’ and the series, ‘Age of the Living Dead’. The Atlanta native is the creator of ‘Johnson’.

An actor and comedian, Smithey has honed his talents on the stage and on the small screen. His previous appearances include ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘NCIS’ among others.
Derrex Brady

Derrex began his career as a professional dancer touring the world. He has since developed quite the resume as an actor, appearing in television and film. He has recently launched a production company with his partner M.D. Walton titled, Skyscope Pictures.
He is set to appear in the upcoming feature film is titled Headshop.
