It’s no secret that Chico DeBarge has had his fair share of run-ins with the law in recent years. The singer and multi-talented member of the legendary DeBarge family has battled with addiction for several years and has several arrests to his name since the mid 2000s. The latest incident got the Chico DeBarge motorhome impounded, according to reports from TMZ.
The news stems from an incident that took place back on November 6th. Cops got a call about a disturbance happening in the motorhome and upon arrival they determined that the Chico DeBarge motorhome had an expired registration dating back 6 plus months. The Chico DeBarge motorhome was impounded and a resulting search of the vehicle led to a discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
DeBarge was swiftly arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. This is the first Chico DeBarge methamphetamine arrest. Back in early January he was stopped by cops who found heroin and methamphetamines on him during a search. Chico didn’t have identification on him, but he allegedly told officers that he was James DeBarge. He was also charged then with false impersonation.
The DeBarge family has a long history of arrests and sad stories, which were on display in The Bobby DeBarge story, which originally aired on TV One. El DeBarge has also been arrested several times. Tommy DeBarge passed away in October 2021, he was 64. He had suffered from kidney and liver failure and that that took a turn for the worse.
After the latest Chico DeBarge methamphetamine arrest he was eventually released from custody on a promise to appear citation.
