Baby Blue has been sentenced to 20 months in prison. The 37 year-old rapper, whose real name is Diamond Smith, of the group Pretty Ricky, was arrested earlier this year for his involvement in a PPP loan scam. According to court documents, the rapper plead guilty on Aug. 4 in the Southern District of Florida to conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Baby Blue used fake information to get a loan of $426,717 for a company called, Throwbackjersey.com LLC. After getting those funds he applied for another PPP loan with more fake information for the company Blue Star Records LLC. This time he tried to get $708,065. He used at least $250,000 to pay off the leaders of the PPP Loan scam, James R. Stote, 55, and Phillip J. Augustin, 52.
Baby Blue was sentenced to 20 months in prison and he was ordered to pay $1,111,345.23 in restitution and $1,134,782 in forfeiture in addition to his term of imprisonment.
In an unrelated story, Baby Blue is also suing SpareZ bowling alley for failing to protect him. In April of this year he was shot in the bowling alley’s parking lot.
