Shonda Rhimes and Netflix have provided us with the first look at the upcoming season of the breakout series, Bridgerton. At the Netflix global fan event, Tudum, the network unveiled the Bridgerton Season 2 trailer, which spotlights new characters and a new story line. The new season is set to premiere on March 25, 2022.
As was previously announced, Simon, the Duke of Hastings won’t appear on the upcoming Bridgerton season 2. In fact, season 2 will focus a bit more on the life and love of Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey. His love interest, Kate, will be played by Simone Ashley. Actress Phoebe Dynevor does return for season 2 of the series, playing Daphne, last season’s star, but this season is really all about her older brother Anthony. The series follows the same format as the books in the Julia Quinn novels.
The new Bridgerton season 2 premiere date was announced on Christmas day, a year after the series originally premiered on Netflix. Watch the announcement below:
‘Bridgerton‘ has already been renewed for season 3 and 4. A ‘Bridgerton‘ spinoff has also been ordered. That will focus on the life of a young Queen Charlotte.
