The second season finale of Atlanta on FX was on May 10, 2018. Fans didn’t think it would take 2 years to get a third season, yet here we are, almost 4 full years later and there is still no Atlanta season 3. All that changed on Halloween though, when we finally got a teaser into what the new season of the series might bring, with the first look at Atlanta season 3. Atlanta will return for its 10-episode third season on March 24, 2022.
The hit series stars Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, LaKeith Stanfield and Zazie Beets. While no specific date has been set for season 3, fans will be happy to know that season 4 is already under production as well. All episodes are written and the team started shooting scenes already so there shouldn’t be an extensive wait between season 3 and season 4 of the show. We do know that Atlanta season 3 will premiere at some point in 2022, presumably in the first half of the year, but more will be confirmed soon. In the meantime here is the teaser.
The trailer was revealed on Halloween and fans began to immediately speculate that we can expect to find Paper Boi has been signed to a major label and that’s why things get a bit spooky in this upcoming season. But only time will tell if that is what takes place this new season. What we do now though is that most of Season 3 of Atlanta was shot in Europe, particularly in Paris and Amsterdam. Same will likely be the case for season 4.
Here’s the Atlanta Season 3 synopsis:
Taking place almost entirely in Europe, Season 3 finds “Earn” (Donald Glover), “Alfred / ‘Paper Boi’” (Brian Tyree Henry), “Darius” (LaKeith Stanfield) and “Van” (Zazie Beetz) in the midst of a successful European tour, as the group navigates their new surroundings as outsiders, and struggle to adjust to the newfound success they had aspired to.
