This pandemic just seems to be getting even more bizarre by the day. According to reports from CNN, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of South Carolina recently revealed that a 53-year-old nursing director is facing serious jail time for allegedly filling out fake vaccinations cards.
On June 20 and July 28, Tammy McDonald, of Columbia, was said to have forged information on COVID-19 vaccination badges and given them to “patients” who hadn’t even taken the shot for the virus.
“She provided CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Cards to individuals and had personally filled out the individuals’ identifying information and lot numbers for vaccines she knew had not been administered to those individuals,” the indictment detailed.
The FBI and Department of Health and Human Services questioned McDonald about the matter back in October. However, as told by People, authorities later stated that she attempted to prove her innocence by claiming that “she did not have access to COVID-19 Vaccination Record Cards” and that “she never produced a false or inaccurate vaccine card.”
McDonald has been indicted on a total of three charges by a federal grand jury: two counts of producing fraudulent identification documents (each up to 15 years) and one count of lying to federal investigators (up to 5 years).
On Friday, after being arraigned and pleading not guilty on all charges, the Director of Nursing Services was granted a $10,000 bond.
