Eminem Celebrates 14 Years of Sobriety On 4/20
4/20 to some might mean something totally different but for Eminem it was the day he gave up alcohol and drugs. After overdosing and nearly dying in December of 2007 and relapsing a few times in early 2008, it was on April 20 of that year he gave everything up. The Detroit MC had to literally re learn how to speak, write, rap and even drive his car. Today marks the anniversary of Eminem 14 years sober.
If anything Slim Shady has excelled even more since that dark time. Recently he has performed on top of The Empire State Building, The Oscars, The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame & The Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Eminem has also released 6 studio albums, 1 collaboration project and many guest appearances. Albums Relapse & Recovery were a main focus shortly after his sobriety started, with many tracks describing his life during that time.
