DJ Quik’s son, David Blake Jr., is allegedly detained in connection with a homicide, according to reports. David Blake Jr. was arrested for suspicion of murder after getting into a fight with a man and shooting him which led to his death.
According to reports, the Downey Police Department received information about a “fight in progress” on May 27. While they were on their way to the scene, another complaint concerning shots fired came in. Reports claim that there was a confrontation and shooting on Carfax Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. Officers were faced with an injured man when they arrived on the scene.
The victim of the incident was later identified as a 33-year-old man named Julio Cardoza, who was shot in the chest. Downey investigators named David Blake Jr. as the person responsible after an investigation, and he was arrested, “The incident appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the public.”

Authorities have appealed to the public for assistance in finding additional information in this case. Furthermore, there is yet to be any news from DJ Quick, Blake Jr. in response to journalist Jasmyne Cannick’s initial press release. Blake Jr. has been working closely with Compton council member Isaac Galvan as his liaison.
Blake Jr. is being jailed and charged $2 million as bail, according to NBC Los Angeles. DJ Quik’s son’s arrest is sad news for him as his daughter was charged for his grandson’s terrible death after disciplining the child for wetting the bed. Davieanna Marlena Blake was charged with first-degree murder and held on a $250,000 bond as the child suffered a lacerated liver, internal bleeding, and bruising.
