In a statement to ET on Wednesday, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey and her husband Mike Hill confirmed that they are calling it quits after 2 years of marriage. The now ex-couple made statements in an exclusive statement. The two allegedly said that love is a beautiful thing and they will always have love for one another. Still they have decided to go their separate ways. They made it clear that they don’t blame anyone for the marriage failing. They are very appreciative of everyone that has been on their journey with them. Family, friends, and fans included.

A source tells ET that Bailey and her husband have been going through problems for a while. They tried to work things out but were unable to. Both of them have been busy with work and it took a toll on their relationship according to the source. The couple allegedly became romantically involved in late 2018 after Bailey’s divorce from her former husband, Peter Thomas in 2016.

Not long after Bailey confirmed her relationship with Mike Hill, she allegedly made an interesting statement to Bravo. She seemingly said, “If I can’t make it with Mike Hill, then I’m just meant to be single for the rest of my life.”

How it all started

The two got engaged in 2018 and married in October 2020. The wedding was part of Bailey’s sendoff season of RHOA after she announced her departure the following year. It took place in Acworth, Georgia with 250 guests which led to Bailey’s facing a lot of backlash from fans for throwing such a big party at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In several photos for the event, people were seen without masks and not following safety protocols.

Bailey defended her and her crew by saying that they did everything they could to protect everyone from masks and shields to temperature checks and even a good spraying down by a COVID-19 specialist. There were protocols in place but things got loose when some people were allowed to take pictures without their masks then everyone wanted pictures without masks.

Cynthia Bailey left the door cracked for her to return to RHOA after 11 years. She said that she would definitely return to the show. Bailey appeared in the first season of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip. Now, she is focusing on her acting career, starring in TV movies for Peacock, Lifetime, and ALLBLK.
