Rapper Kodak Black blasts BET on Twitter after not winning “Song of the Year” at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, and calls to boycott BET and Connie Orlando!

Well, looks like Caresha Please wasn’t the only controversy from last night’s airing of BET’s annual Hip-Hop Awards ceremony. Rapper Kodak Black took to his Twitter account late Wednesday evening, October 05, 2022, with a few words for BET and Connie Orlando, the SVP of Music, News, and Specials at BET, and also the Executive Producer of Black Girls Rock.

It also seems the Florida born rapper called female rapper Latto, a “mutt”, who inherently won the “Song of the Year” Award that Kodak was also nominated for. The award category included nominees Latto for “Big Energy”, Hitkidd and Glorilla for “F.N.F.” (LET’S GO), Jack Harlow for “First Class”, Cardi B, Ye & Lil Durk for “Hot Shit”, Kodak Black for “Super Gremlin”, Future feat. Drake & Tems for “Wait For U”, and Drake feat. Future & Young Thug for “Way Too Sexy”.

Kodak Black’s first tweet addresses his support for female empowerment but implies that he feels as though Latto was the winner only because she is a female, and not because her song was the best of the nominees. He even went on to say that if the award was going to be awarded based on being a female, then up and coming female rapper Glorilla was more deserving for her song “F.N.F.” (LET’S GO).

He goes on the express in the next tweet all the other nominees that could have been chosen as the winners but were not such as Drake and Future. He also points out that Glorilla’s song was an anthem and moved the culture, as “Big Energy” by Latto did not.

In his last tweet he calls for BET to be boycott and for Connie Orlando to be fired. Boycott BET has been trending since the end of the awards ceremony last night, as Kodak Black’s blast of BET and Connie Orlando has added more fuel to the fire.

Do you agree with Kodak? Should he have won the category for “Song of the Year”? Congratulations to Latto! Let us know in the comments how you feel about Kodak’s comments and whether or not BET needs to be boycott.
