Another unfortunate day in Hip-Hop.  The founding member of Migos, Khrisnik Khari Ball, better known as Takeoff was murdered early this morning in Houston, TX.  The rapper was just 28 years old. The news of the Takeoff murder first hit social media in the wee hours of the morning, with video confirming the news long before media outlets were able to official report it.

The rapper, who is the nephew of fellow Migos member Quavo, was the original founding member of the group Migos, which included Offset, Quavo’s cousin.

Migos was currently going through a bit of a break, with Offset gearing up to release his sophomore solo album in November, a month after Quavo and Takeoff’s debut as a duo with their album, Only Built For Infinity Links.

According to reports, Quavo and Takeoff were in Houston, in part to celebrate the birthday of J Prince.  Police received a call about a man shot at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston around 2:30 AM. Two other people were shot in the early morning shooting, but Quavo was not hit, as was first reported on social media. While J. Prince might not have been at the event, his son, Jas Prince or J. Prince Jr. was at the scene and can be seen on the video circulating after Takeoff was shot.

All early reports indicate that the shooting was over a dice game.
Someone who claimed to be at the scene took to Twitter to share a bit more about the incident. The post began to go viral, but we can’t confirm the accounts from the tweet.

Fans began to react quickly to the news of the Takeoff murder. This one sums it all up.
