DJ “tWitch” from the Ellen DeGeneres Show Dies by Suicide at the Age of 40
DJ “tWitch” dies by suicide at the age of 40, according to TMZ.
Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the famed DJ on the Ellen DeGeneres talk show, has reportedly passed away by suicide at the tender age of 40 years old.
Law enforcement sources informed TMZ that Stephen’s wife Allison Holker ran into an LAPD station Tuesday, December 13, 2022, and she was frantic because she said Stephen had left home without his car — something that was not like him at all.
A short time later — around 11:15 AM — paramedics received a call for a shooting at a Los Angeles hotel, and there they found Stephen, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to PEOPLE, Allison released a statement; “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
She continues, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”
Just 3 days ago, Allison posted a video to her Instagram account celebrating the pairs’ 9th wedding anniversary. She captioned the post with: It’s our 9th anniversary!! I couldn’t be more grateful to celebrate this perfect magical day!!! Saying YES to @sir_twitch_alot has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life!! I feel so blessed and loved!! I love you baby and I will never take you or OUR love for granted! I LOVE YOU #happyanniversary #bosswedding2013

She also posted to her Instagram account the next day a video of she and DJ “tWitch” doing what they do best and performing their favorite dance routines together to an Alicia Keys Christmas song.

Stephen started DJing on Ellen’s show in 2014 and was with her until the show ended in May of 2022. He became an executive producer on the show in 2020.
He really got his big break in showbiz in 2008, when he was runner-up on “So You Think Can Dance.”
He went on to do some acting, landing several roles where he could show off his dance skills. Stephen played Jason in the ‘Step Up’ movie franchise, and he was also in “Magic Mike XXL.”
Stephen hosted several reality shows … most notably, he and Allison hosted “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings” together on Disney+.
The couple met on the all-star season of ‘So You Think You Can Dance”, were they were both competitors, and they got married in 2013. They had 3 kids together. DJ “tWitch” dies by suicide, he was 40 years old.
