On Friday, Tory Lanez was found guilty by the jury for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. As a result, he faces up to 22 years in prison. “I want him to go to jail. I want him to go under the jail,” said Megan in a Rolling Stone interview earlier in 2022. “I think it’s so crazy that people are able to get online or publish anything that is not a 100 percent fact. That really is messing with my life. How are you able to do it and get away with it?”

The “Feels” rapper was found guilty on one count each of “assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, personally using a firearm that caused bodily injury, and carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle.” The assault went down in July 2020 at Kylie Jenner‘s mansion after a pool party, where Tory Lanez shot bullets at Megan‘s feet.

Tory Lanez pled not guilty in October 2022 after being apprehended and charged for the assault. At the time of the shooting, Megan Thee Stallion was exiting a car with Kelsey Harris (Megan’s friend/assistant at the time) and Lanez. The Canadian hip-hop star was supposedly upset at the “Realer” spitter’s comments regarding his musical status and opened fire at her as she walked away. Lanez‘s attorneys argued that Harris shot the pistol because she was angry that Lanez and Megan were sleeping with each other.

Megan described: “Tory [Lanez] was basically telling me I wasn’t sh*t, and I said, ‘Actually, you ain’t sh-t. This is where you at in your career. This is where you at with your music.’ And I feel like that really rubbed him the wrong way. He kept yelling and cursing.” On the stand, Megan claimed Lanez said he would give Harris and her $1 million a piece if they did not go to the authorities, as he was on probation. At first, the “Cry Baby” rapper wanted to protect all the parties involved and said nothing to the police.

Megan remarked: “This was at the height of police brutality. I felt like if I said this man just shot me, I didn’t know if they might shoot first and ask questions later… in the Black community… it’s not really acceptable to be cooperating with police officers.” Eventually, Megan informed the cops, and now Lanez is headed to the penitentiary.
