Patrick Mahomes is nursing an ankle injury which will make it extra challenging to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game. However, Drake still feels Mahomes’ team will win on Sunday — and Drizzy‘s belief is so strong that he bet $1.1 million on the Kansas City Chiefs. The “Worst Behavior” rapper took to Instagram and posted a screenshot of the 7-figure bet.

If the Kansas City Chiefs win the AFC Championship Game, Drake would double his bet amount and take home $2.057 million. Given the Cincinnati Bengals win on Sunday, Drake would not only lose $1.1 million, but it would also add to the theory that the “Headlines” spitter jinxes teams and athletes he supports which ultimately causes them to lose — which social media refers to as “The Drake Curse.”

From the Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, Serena Williams, Conor McGregor — to the Kentucky Wildcats, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Anthony Joshua — numerous celebrated athletes have lost milestone events after Drake co-signed them. Despite his world-shaking losses, the Young Money star recently took home a lot of money after betting ironically on another Cincinnati Bengals game. The 6 God bet the Los Angeles Rams would beat the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI ( February 2022) and walked away with over $2.27 million; subtract $1.1 million from that impressive cash-in, and it doesn’t quite matter if the Kansas City Chiefs lose the AFC Championship game on Sunday.

Drake and Mahomes have traded shots before in the past, though all in good natured sports fun. On “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” (2021), Drizzy rapped, “Patty Mahomes ‘bout to fall short a couple hunnid.” The superstar Kansas City quarterback naturally caught wind of the referencing bar and Mahomes replied with a comical gif.
