Unless you’re born into a wealthy family, every rich person had to journey a road until fortuitously stumbling upon a pot of gold. The same goes for billionaire rap star Jay Z — he was raised in a poverty-stricken public housing complex in Brooklyn, sold drugs to as a means to attain income, started his own record label because no one desired to sign him, was indicted for allegedly stabbing someone in a club, and so on. Likewise, some of the “Anything” rapper’s first interactions with generational wealth came via other hip hop artists who at the time were more prosperous than him. Hence, his first-ever ride in a Lamborghini was with Missy Elliott.
In the mid-90s and early 2000s, Missy Elliott was spewing out hit records like an assembly line. At the time, Jay Z was upcoming and merely making his mark in the music industry. Though, how the tables have turned! On Twitter, Elliott recently shared a comical tidbit regarding how she gave the “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” hit maker his first Lamborghini experience. Along with footage of the two hip hop icons striding through a hallway backstage at the 2023 Grammys, the “Lose Control” spitter touchingly recounted giving Hov his first-ever ride in the celebrated luxury sports car.

Missy Elliott recalled: “@SC fun fact Jay said the 1st time he ever rode in a Lambo car was mines over 20 yrs ago. now look he probably own a damn spaceship with a alien driver. He always showed me love.” Considering Jay Z just sold 25% of his share of D’usse for approx $3 billion, if anyone were to have an alien driver and a spaceship at this point it’d certainly be him.
Skip to 2023 and Jay Z is the biggest name in Hip Hop. He recently shared the stage at the 2023 Grammy Awards with DJ Khaled, John Legend and Lil Wayne which undoubtedly solidified it as the biggest performance of the ceremony. Afterwards, the “Song Cry” rapper expressed his feelings of how his wife, Beyonce, should of won Album Of The Year over Harry Styles. With that all said, Missy Elliott doing top speed in a Lamborghini couldn’t keep up with Jigga‘s pace.
