SZA’s Sophomore Album ‘SOS’ Earns Certified Platinum
The Grammy-winning singer, SZA’s sophomore album ‘SOS’ is officially certified platinum by RIAA.
SZA could not hide her excitement when she learned that her SOS album, earned certified platinum for selling one million equivalent units. The SOS album topped the Billboard 200 chart for a seventh week and broke Whitney Houston’s chart record.
In an Instagram post, SZA posted pictures from the recently held Grammy event. Styled by duo, Chloe & Chenelle Delgadillo, the artist looked stunning in a black dress from Mugler Fall Winter 2022/23 that showed off her curves. The look was completed with curvy hair and minimal jewelry.
She captioned, “Last night was the first time I had a great time at an award show ! (Prolly cause I ain’t have to do shit but cheer my friends on + announce ppl I Stan lmao ) my team also surprised me w a GANG OF PLATINUM and gold plaques for SOS 🥹😭 can’t believe the album is already eligible for double platinum .
SZA also gave a shoutout to her fans, family and friend that supported her through her journey. In her words, “LOVE TO EVERYBODY THAT GOT ME HERE AND CONTINUES TO LIFT ME UP . I love you 🤍”
Meanwhile, the Recording Industry Association of America has awarded SZA a total of 11 gold and platinum certifications. The R&B goddess has received platinum plaques for “Good Days” four times, “Supermodel” twice, “I Hate You,” “Go Gina,” “20 Something,” and “Kill Bill,” as well as gold plaques for “Nobody Gets Me,” “Blind,” “Low,” and “Shirt.”
