R&B singer R. Kelly sentenced to 20 years after being charged with child abuse.

On Thursday (Feb. 23), an Illinois judge slapped Kelly with a 20-year prison stint for his convictions on minor pornography and the inducement of kids for sex crimes.

The prosecutors admitted that if Kelly had been sentenced to a significant period–in addition to the punishment he received in New York–he would have had no possibility of escaping jail alive.

Meanwhile, a few witnesses against Kelly pleaded with the judge to give him a severe consequence, stating that his crimes committed against children and his lack of remorse warranted it.

A lady who testified in court using the alias “Jane” claimed that she had lost her childhood dreams of becoming a singer and her ambitions for happy relationships in a statement read aloud in court.

“I will never get back what I lost to Robert Kelly; I have been permanently scarred by Robert.”

Last year, Kelly was sentenced after trial by a Chicago jury on six of thirteen charges, including three for creating images of child sexual assault and three for luring children.

However, the judge also said that Kelly will serve nearly all of his time in prison at the same time as the 30-year term he received last year.
