What’s going on with Bel-Air Season 3? Is it coming back to the Peacock network or is it canceled? Fans may have been pondering this, but the verdict is in.

Bel-Air has been officially picked up for a third season by Peacock.

The drama’s Season 2 premiere, which established a new record as the streamer’s most-watched original sophomore series to date, and the early renewal follow each other by almost a month. Every Thursday up to the season finale on April 27, new episodes will air.

Bel-Air transforms the classic sitcom into a contemporary drama, drawing inspiration from the same-named viral video by Morgan Cooper. It is co-written and directed by Cooper, who is also slated as an executive producer.

The synopsis states, “Bel-Air Season 2 picks up with Will at a crossroads as a new figure comes into his life who challenges what he’s learned in Bel-Air and competes for control of his influence. He juggles this while navigating his home life with the Banks family and trying to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of last season. We’ll see Will Smith and Carlton’s brotherhood start to evolve as they grow closer but still challenge each other about their differences. We’ll also see Hilary evolve as she becomes more of a boss in her influencer world and how that spills over into her relationship with Jazz, and also highlight the relatable struggles around Viv and Phil balancing marriage and family while trying to forge their own career paths and reconnect to the things that are important to them.”

Jabari Banks is the lead character in the reboot, which also stars Adrian Holmes from V Wars as Phillip Banks, Cassandra Freeman from Atlanta as Vivian Banks, Olly Sholotan from The Evolution of Nate Gibson as Carlton Banks, Coco Jones from Vampires vs. The Bronx as Hilary Banks, Akira Akbar from Captain Marvel as Ashley Banks, Jimmy Akingbola from Most Dangerous Game as Geoffrey, and Jordan L. Jones plays Jazz.

And in case you were wondering — Will Smith is one of the executive producers on the show.
