Will Smith hurt by Chris Rock’s Netflix special? Well, according to an inside source, the fellow actor/comedian’s new endeavor on the streaming platform, Selective Outrage, made Smith feel a certain type of way.

For the first time since Smith ambushed him onstage at the 2022 Oscars, Rock sounded off on the Fresh Prince’s unsuspected slap and the 58-year-old comic also threw shade at the Emancipation actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

An insider told ET: “Will [Smith] is embarrassed and hurt by what Chris [Rock] said about him and his family in his Netflix special. He didn’t watch it, but he had people tell him what Chris said.”

The Smiths have (allegedly) “seen comments” about the special although they didn’t view it. The “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” rapper reportedly feels Chris Rock: Selective Outrage (in which Rock quipped about August Alsina having an affair with the Menace II Society actress, Meghan Markle’s regal racism allegations, and more) was “distasteful.”

The source furthered that Smith has uttered remorse for his conduct and “would like for Chris to let it go.”

Rock spoke to the Baltimore crowd about the couple’s infamous Red Table Talk episode, “[Jada Pinkett Smith] was fcking her son’s friend. I normally would not talk about this sht … But for some reason, [they] put that sht on the Internet. We all been cheated on. Everybody in here’s been cheated on. None of us have ever been interviewed by the person that cheated on us on television. ‘Hey, I was sucking somebody’s dck. How did that make you feel?’”

The comedy legend said the smack from Smith left him ‘hearing Summertime ringing in my ears.’ “He played Muhammed Ali, I played Pookie in New Jack City,” said Rock in defense of his passivity.

Someone who has claimed to be acquainted with both celebrities also alleged that–though given a public apology–Smith has yet to apologize to Rock personally.

“Will did call Chris last year after the Oscars, but Chris didn’t pick up. And they haven’t spoken since,” said the close friend.
