Yung Miami in BMF?! Yep! The City Girls rapper—also known by her birth name, Caresha—has the internet in an uproar with her latest acting skills in an episode of the hit Starz series BMF.

As we know, Miami has been making her way up the ladder in the entertainment industry. From being a City Girl to finding her voice and stance in the film field, Miami has zapped passed many obstacles and gained the eyes and ears of many. As if her podcast, Caresha Please, hadn’t won already won our hearts enough, the 29-year-old has now taken her talents to our TV screens!

Miami was first seen putting her theater chops to the test in the Netflix flick You People, which aired in January of this year. Subsequent to the release, viewers raved about the lyricist’s comedic approach to the character.

The switch from a light-hearted role to an emotionally-driven scene in BMF created distress in the audience. The celebrated show captured Miami taking on the gut-wrenching role of Deanna Washington, who’s later informed by Big Meech that her husband has been shot and killed.

“I like her. I just thought she would channel into her emotions more on the crying scene. I love Caresha though,” said one watcher who wasn’t as pleased with her acting scene.

The rising actress then had a few responses of her own. She tweeted, “If I’m crying why y’all laughing??? Y’all play [too] much.”

While some alluded that Miami’s on-screen capabilities were “lackluster” and joked that she’d maybe gotten coached by the infamous ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star Joseline Hernandez, others offered grace for her first time around the Hollywood block.

All in all, the rhymer-turned-starlet doesn’t seem too bothered by the criticism and has (instead) embraced it.

We’re excited to see Miami stepping into her acting bag! Cheers to more!
