David Alan Grier in NBC’s St. Denis Medical?! The Tony winner is set to appear in an all-new TV project on the network, and here’s what you need to know about it.
In St. Denis Medical, a brand-new comedy pilot from NBC, the In Living Color actor/comedian will co-star with Wendi McLendon-Covey.

Grier will portray Ron, an emergency room physician, in the mockumentary, which will take place at an understaffed and underfunded Oregon hospital, according to Deadline. Ron is defined as a divorcee who has given up and realized that the thrill is no longer there.
St. Denis Medical is a single-camera sitcom created by Eric Ledgin (Superstore) and Justin Spitzer that centers on the committed medical professionals who do their best to care for patients while maintaining their sanity.

Wendi McLendon-Covey, who plays Joyce, the executive director of St. Denis Medical, will co-star with Grier in the series. Joyce is a former oncological surgeon with enormous ambitions for the future of St. Denis, but at the moment those aspirations are out of reach.
The show’s executive producers are Simon Heuer, Ledgin, and Spitzer. Acting as director will be Ruben Fleischer from Superstore.
Grier most recently co-starred with Steve Carell in the FX psychological thriller series The Patient.
In 2021, Grier earned a Tony Award for his performance as Sgt. Vernon Waters in A Soldier’s Play. In December 2022, the Blankman star also appeared in Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration musical special on ABC.
