A Wheel of Fortune contestant’s bagel fail has erupted on Twitter after the woman incorrectly replied to a puzzle regarding bagels and cream cheese.
“WARM TOASTED BA_ELS WITH LO_ AND CREAM CHEESE,” read the puzzle and Angie (a Florida native) merrily attempted to solve it. “I’m gonna try to solve,” she stated. “Warm toasted bagels with low and cream cheese.”
The wrong buzzer sounded, and Pat Sajak (host of Wheel of Fortune) informed Angie that she was incorrect. Nina, another contestant, then swooped in and solved the riddle, “Warm toasted bagels with lox and cream cheese.”
Sajak mused, “Yeah, that’s a much better estimate.”
Plainly, Angie had never heard of ‘lox.’ Lox is a seawater salmon fillet customarily served on a bagel. It is a beloved spread in the United States on the East Coast, particularly in New York.
Wheel of Fortune Contestant’s Bagel Fail Sets Twitter on Fire
The fact Angie was clueless about lox actually surprised many Twitter users.
One tweeter quipped, “Contestant thought this was “Warm Toasted Bagels with Low and Cream Cheese.” WTF. That doesn’t even make sense.” Another said, “Not “LOW & cream cheese”…….she did NOT JUST SAY THAT…I CAN’T.”
A Long Island Bagel Boss employee posted, “With “LOW and cream cheese”…..This is a disgrace. Someone get us her @ so we can hook her up with some LOX and cream cheese.”

On the contrary, others empathized with the Wheel of Fortune contestant’s failure, as they too weren’t acquainted with lox.
One tweeter posted, “Google about to get a whole lot of traffic searching what in the hell type of food “lox” is.”
“I ain’t gonna fault the lady for guessing “Low.” I have never heard of lox either,” another viewer posted. While someone from the Mid West added, “Learned what lox is today! #midwesterner #WheelOfFortune.”
