Angela Bassett will receive an Honorary Oscar Award but many people are a little against this award.
As we know, Angela Bassett was nominated in the Oscars this year but was not selected for the award which left many of her fans upset.
Now, months later it has come to our attention that she will receive an Honorary Oscar Award which honors lifetime achievements , exceptional contributions to motion pictures and arts, and outstanding service to the academy.
Although it isn’t your regular Oscar award, it still sheds lights n the achievements that Angela Bassett has set for other actors and actresses.
Angela Bassett has had her share in incredible movies such as The Black Panther, Tina Turner Biopic: What’s Love Got To Do With It, Wakanda Forever, Waiting to Exhale, Akeela and the Bee, Malcolm X, How Stella Got Her Groove Back and many more amazing movies that touched us while watching and even later down the line.
Angela Bassett has been an icon for many young women to see the growth and a strong black woman playing roles that helped us think, to build our confidence, to fight for what we want to continue to become what they don’t want…a strong black woman with a brain.
She has created a path for many women, one being KeKe Palmer who loves Angela Bassett and has recited her line in the infamous movie What’s Love Got to Do With It.
Social media had a lot to say when hearing the news of the award. Although some people are joyous at the fact that she will receive her award a lot of other people think that she should’ve received the Oscar in the proper way.
Either way, we are happy that she is receiving the flowers that are long overdue. She will receive her award on November 18.
We are happy for everyone else who will also receive the award as well and understand that each person deserves their flowers.
