BET+ just announced a two-part special titled, “Gabrielle Union: My Journey to 50,” which will debut on June 15th. The special will follow actress Gabrielle Union as she travels around Africa to celebrate her 50th birthday, together with her family, friends, and loved ones.

Synopsis of Gabrielle Union: My Journey to 50

In the documentary, Gabrielle will share with us her experience while taking a tour in Africa while making a stop at Zanzibar, Ghana’s coast, Namibia’s parks, and South Africa’s nightlife. The star will take viewers on an epic, pans afro can journey as she celebrates her 50th trip around the sun.

More importantly, she will follow her ancestors’ footsteps on her voyage, grow in wisdom, and let go of things that don’t serve her anymore. whereas encouraging others to re-learn, re-discover, and re-connect as we all celebrate being our most genuine selves.

“I’ve always had a lifelong thirst for knowledge. Connecting with the birthplace of civilization and my own ancestry helped me inch closer to my true self,” said Union. “There was no other place I wanted to spend my 50th birthday. It was an experience I’ll never forget and I’m excited for audiences to join me on the journey

The special will feature two 60 minute episodes.

Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, Madison Merritt, Elaine Metaxas, Sergio Alfaro, Tiffany Mills, Gabrielle Union-Wade, Kian Gass, and Erin Beaurem are credited as the executive producers. The show is a collaboration between two production companies, Jesse Collins Entertainment and I’ll Have Another.
