There may have been a miscommunication, but it appears at least conceivable that legendary actor Bill Murray and singer-songwriter Kelis are dating.

Although the tabloid-reported allegations about their relationship have not yet been verified, both their supporters and detractors are having fun joking about it.

The two have apparently connected after Bill Murray’s estranged wife died in 2021, while Kelis’ second spouse died in March of last year, according to a report from The Sun’s American counterpart on Thursday.

Following the artist’s performance last weekend in London, Murray, 72, and Kelis, 43, took a photo together, and they were apparently staying at the same hotel.

Bill Murray & Kelis May Be Dating

The Sun was reportedly told by an insider, “They’ve met up in the States before, which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they’re both here. They’ve clearly hit it off…They’ve also both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them. Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap.”

The announcement sparked an outpouring of passionate and comical responses on social media.

The age difference between Kelis and Murray isn’t the only thing causing controversy, either. Murray has often sparked allegations of wrongdoing over the years, including outward claims of verbal and physical assault, which has caused some to view the romance rumor with worry rather than amusement.

“I did something I thought was funny and it wasn’t taken that way,” Murray said last year in regards to an incident. Given that Matty Healy and Taylor Swift‘s brief romance was also initially reported by The Sun, there is every cause to suspect that Kelis and Murray’s relationship may be more than just rumors.
