Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop is a new Netflix doc series that will tell the stories of the wonderful women of Hip-Hop. 

The Netflix doc series will be a four part series and it will premiere on August 4th. 

It will share the stories of each woman from the present until now of the role that they play in the industry.

With it being the 50 year anniversary of hip-hop it is a great way to show the appreciation of women in the industry as they begin to rise to the occasion.

The Netflix series will have the women of the industry from the past such as: Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Rah Digga, Da Brat, Remy Ma and much more. Then from the present they will have women such as:Kash doll, Latto, Saweetie, Rapsody, Chika, Coi Leray and many more. 

As Netflix expresses there need to explore the past, present, and future of hip-hop there were many people who didn’t understand where Trina or Lil Kim were on the list.

Many people felt as though both of these women should’ve been present on the film as well but regardless there are many women who will be presented in the film on August 4th.
