A recent Family Feud competitor who mispronounced a celebrity’s name horrified Steve Harvey and still managed to get a top answer.
Contestant Glenn was presented with the inquiry in the show, which aired in July: “Name something that might be depicted as hot-hot-hot?” The board already had responses like “Hot Sauce/Salsa” and “Chili Peppers”.
Glenn struggled to come up with a suitable response and ultimately chose to mention the singer Kelly Clarkson. However, he mispronounced it, belting out “Kelly ClarkSTON.”
Harvey gave the Family Feud contestant a chance to clarify his statement and provide a better response, but once more, he responded, “Kelly Clarkston.”
Glenn’s response, which was the top response on the board under the category “People,” was approved despite the mispronunciation. Technically speaking, Kelly Clarkston is definitely a real person, making her the correct choice even if the contestant clearly had someone else in mind.
Family Feud Player Gives ‘Best Worst’ Answer
Harvey deemed Glenn “The best worst player I’ve ever seen” because he couldn’t believe the contestant had managed to pull it off.
On Family Feud, mispronunciations frequently lead to confusion.
A throwback video from earlier this year of a woman answering the question “Name a sexy food you put on your mate’s body when you’re fooling around” in a puzzling way has surfaced once again.
“I would have to say a liqueur,” answered the participant. Stumped, Harvey responded, “A liqueur?”
She ensued, “Yeah, like a liquor.” Naturally, The Steve Harvey Show actor sarcastically replied: “Oh, liquor… Excuse me, the Black guy’s not French. I’m sorry.”
As you can imagine, the answer board did not boast liquor or liqueur.
