Born, Tariq Trotter, he is the co-founder of The Roots and a four time Grammy Award winner. The Upcycled Self book is set to be released on November 14, 2023 via One World.

The Upcycled Self book synopsis
The Upcycled Self offers an unfiltered and unprecedented account of seminal memories in Black Thought’s unbelievable life. The book begins with a tragedy: as a child, Trotter burned down his family’s home. The book holds nothing back, detailing other trials and tribulations. However, it also follows him through discovering music and uniting with Questlove to launch The Roots. It culminates as he reaches the doorstep of his stardom, giving readers the most intimate look at his come up yet.
