Rap Sh!t Season 2, the series created by Issa Rae has been deferred as a result of the continual strikes in Hollywood, even though the series was originally scheduled to premiere on Max in a week (August 10).
The second season will begin November 9th with two episodes and add new episodes every week until the December 21 conclusion.
Actors are no longer permitted to promote studio-sponsored productions, but writers still have few options for press coverage as labor unions attempt to challenge a new agreement on their behalf.
The release date in November has sparked rumors that a deal may be reached by then, allowing artists to promote the show’s second season.

Showrunner Syreeta Singleton released the following statement when Rap Sh!t was first given a Season 2 renewal, “This show and cast are one of a kind and I’m thrilled to get to do this again with them. We’re going bigger and harder!”
Issa Rae’s HBO Series Postponed
HBO Max’s Head of Original Content, Sarah Aubrey, furthered, “We are so excited to continue this journey with Shawna and Mia and the incredibly fun world of Rap Sh!t. With the wonderfully comedic and unique perspectives of Aida Osman, KaMillion, Issa Rae, Syreeta Singleton and the team at HOORAE, season two is sure to bring even more seducing and scheming.”
In the first season of Rap Sh!t, Miami-based high school classmates Mia (KaMillion) and Shawna (Osman) bury the hatchet and launched a rap clique. Devon Terrell, RJ Cyler, and Jonica Booth were also featured. Issa Rae, HOORAE’s own Montrel McKay, 3 Arts Entertainment’s Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry, and Singleton are the series’ executive producers.
Along with Singleton, Rae also co-wrote the season one finale and the season one premiere.
Co-executive producers include HOORAE’s Sara Rastogi, Pierre “P” Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee for Quality Control Films, and the hip-hop combo JT and Yung Miami of City Girls.
