Drake’s betting curse has once again struck and his most recent victim is none other than Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya.
On Friday, 8th of September, Drake posted a betting slip on Instagram. Where he had staked $500k on fighter Israel Adesanya to knock out Sean Strickland at the UFC 293 Bout, which took place at Sydney, Australia on Saturday, the 9th of September.
Now, this isn’t the first time Drake would be betting on games. This also wouldn’t be the first time the player he supports loses the game. This begs the question: Is Drake’s curse a real thing? If so, then maybe the rapper should support the team he feels wouldn’t win. What do you say?
If Isreal Adesanya had knocked Sean out, Drake would have cashed out a sum of $920k without breaking a sweat. This wasn’t the case and Drake is now $500k short. Not a lot by Drake standards but if he keeps betting this amount on every sunny day, then we might have to start worrying about the ‘Know Yourself’ Rapper.
Earlier this year, he had also lost $400k when he bet on Jake Paul during his fight with Tommy Fury. Paul had taken his loss in strides and had jokingly replied to the reporter who questioned him about the Drakes support and if he thought that his loss had anything to do with ‘The Drakes support curse.’
“Fuck! This is Drake’s fault! Drake, bro! Why you do this to me? Nah, it’s my fault, but $400,000 is nothing to him, He’s won a lot of money betting on me before. So, he’s probably about even now. Sorry, Drake. I’mma get that W in the rematch,”
Drake has however, cashed out a number of times but for now, word on the street is that, betting the opposite of what Drake bets is what will get you the bag.
Here is what people are saying on X:
