Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are still living together amid divorce proceedings.
Sources told TMZ that despite them living together under the same roof in Georgia, they hardly interact with each other as they only cross paths when they come and go from the home.
The situation is reportedly uncomfortable but Jeezy is making their one-year-old daughter Monaco a priority.
As Parle previously reported, Jeezy filed for divorce on September 15 after approximately two and half years of marriage. According to documents obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the rapper filed at a Fulton County Court. Per the filing, Jeezy and Jeannie have already been separated.
Jeezy is also reportedly seeking joint custody of his and Jeannie Mai’s daughter Monaco Mai-Jenkins. The estranged couple, Atlanta Journal-Consitution’s report states, have a prenuptial agreement in place.
An insider said, Jeannie is “devastated” and “wants her family unit back.”
“The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit. She is devastated that Jeezy filed for divorce,” a source told Page Six.
The source added that Jeannie still “deeply loves” Jeezy and “wants to work things out” as divorce was not “a part of the plan.”
“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”
Though it was unknown as to why the now-estranged couple went their separate ways at the time, a source revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the two had differing opinions when it came to “certain family values and expectations.”
“They had different views, and each felt like their needs weren’t being completely met,” the source told the outlet.
Jeannie Mai has reportedly yet to file a legal response to Jeezy’s petition.
