It looks like Jeezy and Jeannie Mai calls it quits, as Jeezy has reportedly filed for divorce from the TV host.
According to documents obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Consitution, the musician filed for divorce at a Fulton County Court on September 14–approximately two and a half years after Jeezy and Jeannie tied the knot in Atlanta, Georgia.
Interstingly enough, per the filing, the two have already been separated.
Jeezy is also reportedly seeking joint custody of him and Jeannie Mai’s daughter Monaco Mai-Jenkins. The estranged couple, Atlanta Journal-Consitution’s report states, have a prenuptial agreement in place.
In 2019, the then-couple went Instagram public about their relationship. A year later in 2020, they were engaged.
Jeezy and Jeannie got married in their Atlanta home on March 21, 2021 after three years of dating. In a Vogue spread about their wedding, Jeannie reminisced about the moment the two went out on a date for the first time.
“Years later he asked me out on a date,” Jeannie recalled, sharing that they initially met when he was a guest on daytime talk show The Real.
“We shared a romantic sushi dinner in Los Angeles and salsa danced the night away. Later that evening, he asked if I could picture spending the rest of my life with him. And crazy enough, I could.”
During an interview with Enterainment Tonight, Jeannie Mai opened up about married life with Jeezy compared to when they were dating.
“Oh my god. Married life feels 1,000 percent different than when we were dating, in the greatest way,” she said. “I loved our dating life because we really spent such concentrated quality time getting to know each other and making sure that we were right for each other. And now being married, it’s even more handled with such delicacy and such thoughtfulness, because we’re in our 40s and we both grew up in households that weren’t healthy marriages. We have never seen what that looks like.”
As for Jeezy, he will be a guest speaker at REVOLT WORLD later in September.
