Pink Friday 2 is on the way and Nicki Minaj is reassuring fans that they’ll get nothing but heat while they wait. The Queens rapper proved this during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) when she debuted yet another song from her upcoming album during one of her latest performances.
“Y’all ready for Pink Friday 2?” she shouted while on the mic during her performance. She looked stunning in a sheer Black dress, long middle-parted hair, and dazzling diamond jewelry.
Right before debuting her new song, she sang “Last Time I Saw You,” which dropped in August, to a roaring crowd.
As Parle Magazine previously reported, “Last Time I Saw You” will also be also on Pink Friday 2. News of the song arrived over a week after Nicki Minaj dropped a behind-the-scenes look of her single art photoshoot with it playing in the background. Following the BTS footage that was uploaded to her social media accounts, she shared a clip of herself listening to the song via TikTok.
“Last Time that I saw you #PinkFriday2 #nickiminajsnippet,” she wrote in the post’s caption.
Tuesday night was a busy one for Nicki as she not only performed her two latest tracks but she was the 2023 MTV VMAs host and took home the Best Hip-Hop award for Super Freaky Girl.
“You guys thank you so much, you know what? So often I joke around and play around and stuff but tonight…I don’t know why but, this morning when I woke up, I had this really strong sense of gratitude, and that’s the truth. So, I just wanna say, I thank you guys, the people who go out and support, the people who never skip a beat on the internet…holding us down, the poeple at the tours and you know, I wanna just thank you guys. MTV thank you for showcasing rap and thank you for showing me love.” she said.
“And you know what?” Nicki continued, “should be mean or should I be nice?” she asked the excited audience.
“It’s Barbie b**chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” she exclaimed.
